When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you.
When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned;
the flames will not set you ablaze.
For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior….
Isaiah 43:2-3
If there was one thing from science fiction that I wish I could invent it would be teleportation. You know, “Beam me up, Scotty.” With a push of a button or just say the word and you could be instantly transported to another place – miles or even light years away. It’s not exactly time travel, but scientists might calculate that travelling at the speed of light could actually carry you into the future or whisk you back into the past. It makes me dizzy trying to wrap my head around that.
With God, all things are possible. The Creator of time and space is not confined by either. The great I AM who spoke the universe into existence with a single word always was, always is and always will be. Science fiction has nothing on our amazing God who transcends both time and space!
Now, I’m not suggesting that one day we will be able to teleport ourselves into another dimension. What has brought me great hope in this troublesome world is the ability, through the power of the Holy Spirit, to see things from an eternal perspective. Jesus promised us that life would be hard when He said, “In this world you will have trouble.”
What I’m suggesting is that in our trouble we spiritually go to the past to what God has already done for us and praise Him for it. Then we spiritually think of our future with God, claiming His promise that He has overcome the world, so that in our present we are reminded of Who is with us always!
Can you think of a time in your past where you were so overwhelmed by the cares of this world that you felt completely hopeless? But God, in His mercy and grace, carried you through that fire. As you spiritually look back you can now praise Him for His goodness and His loving hand that held you in the fiercest of storms and His voice that calmed the wind and waves.
You may be experiencing something similar right now and thinking there is no way out, feeling helpless to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Because of who God is, take yourself beyond your circumstances and situation to your future with the Lord. He is able to do beyond all that we could ask or imagine. He is faithful to complete the good work that He started in you.
Praise Him in the morning, praise Him at noon time, and praise Him when the sun goes down. Praise Him now for what He is going to do in your future! And then in the future, when you look back on this day, praise Him for what He has done.
Praise Him for the past, praise Him in the present and praise Him for the future. They are all His and He is Lord of ALL!
IGBOK – It’s Going to Be OK. It is, because the One who holds our future in His hands, holds us by His hand; His righteous right hand.
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10
Live long and prosper, His servant and yours,
Paula
