“Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.” Romans 12:13 (NIV)
Spring is here and it is a great time to connect and engage with your neighbors…share hospitality…chat as you are in the yard…some porch sitting…share some food…just say, “Hi, my name is…”
God invites us into His family through a relationship with His Son Jesus Christ. It is our call to exhibit the same love and generosity of spirit to others. Christian hospitality comes from the One who set us free and moves within us. Christian hospitality is with us wherever we go.
When you open your home to others, God can open your eyes to rich opportunities for ministry and discipleship. Hospitality pours out from a heart overflowing with Jesus’ love and compassion within us.
Opening the doors of our homes is a means to invite people into our lives and hearts. Hospitality is defined as the cordial and generous welcome of guests. It varies in practice, culture, and design. Making others feel welcomed and loved is an act of the heart, however and wherever it occurs.
Christian hospitality provides unity in your home and brings great joy to family and guests. It creates memories and new opportunities at different seasons of life.
Pray and ask God to help you touch the people who enter your home as you plant seeds that God can grow. Practice hospitality and see it simplified as all who enter your home will be blessed.
Mathew. 22:36-39; Hebrews 10:24-25.
